the one factor which seems to be a constant, is that in the post season, ASU will see the #1 starter from any given team. I think the ASU pitching staff is "coming along", but on the other hand, ASU does not have the "dominant pitcher" - e.g., Eddie Bane, Floyd Bannister, etc. Clearly, Leake seems to be the most consistent. Rather, ASU's talent is more spread out among several pitchers.
I am really interested in seeing how the Devils hit against Ouimet (?) for AZ - he seems to have gotten his groove. I don't know if we will see any other top prospects for the remainder of the season.
We had 3 shut outs in the first 5 games - Miami (OH), Oregon St and Hawaii. I don't think we will get any more - other than in the remaining nonconference schedule. Getting double digits in total runs sure makes the games fun, but......
Overall, I like to think ASU is developing more arms, which may be advantageous in the post season.
