IMO, there are about 4-5 college coaches that can be considered the greatest of all time: Rod DeDeux (sp) has to be #1 all time, Winkles probably #2, Garrido, Bertman and maybe one more are in the same conversation. There is a level right beneath that, guys like Brock and Kindall are in that range. We are talking the top 10-12 college coaches of all time. I would say that is better than decent.
I am not saying anything about his announcing other than he isn't bad. I like the Madden comp from someone else and I think that can apply with Kindall. he isn't a great announcer, but it seems the crew that gets sent to Omaha every year is pretty bad. Reynolds is terrible IMO, Peterson is knowledgable but a bore, etc
