:: Yes, everyone here agrees they had great team chemistry. The coaches and older players did a great job leading such a young team. Considering their youth, the production they got from their older players, they just weren't as talented as usual but they made up for it by scrapping and being determined. I don't know if Reuttiger runs well enough to play CF. If he was that good in the OF, he would have been playing in either LF or RF. Newman and Calhoun are both average OFs but Newman does have a strong arm. I would like to see what Brandon Magee can do. The kid is built like a brick $#!^house and can obviously run or he wouldn't be a D1 football player. Maggi and MacPhee are going to just get better, they did a great job as freshman. I'm sure the Torrez brothers are really great kids but neither of them can hit. If they are the corner infielders next year, then the Devils are in trouble. The Raul needs to be used as a late inning defensive replacement at 3B next year for someone who can bang. They need to get someone over at 1B who is going to give you at least 10 HR and 50 RBI. It would have been nice if Murph had let Barnes catch a little this year. The kid was a 3rd round draft pick out of HS and he gets buried on the bench? I like Ramirez a lot but he's not that good that he needed to catch every single game. Let another kid develop! As far as the pitching goes this year, I'm not sure how you stick Ishida in the starting rotation. Murph is not that high on him otherwise he would have thrown him out of the pen or as a third starter this year. I think Swagerty ends up being the closer next year. Blair will be the #1 starter. If they can get Jake Barrett to come to school instead of sign that would be a huge pick up for them. Use him as the closer and move Swagerty to starter. Then have Lambson as your third starter. Use Newman as your lefty out of the pen and try to bring in a JC LHP that can bring it to throw out of the pen as well. Brule won't get any significant innings. He can't throw any secondary pitch consistently for a strike and his fastball is straight as an arrow and he doesn't locate well enough to throw it by people.
: Hmmm, hard to tell how talented this team was because it was so freakin' young. I will agree that they did lack the firepower of what we're used to at ASU, but their team unity, especially for such a young, inexperienced team was quite remarkable. As far as next year's team - (And I know - Murph will have recruits to compete for every position)

: Outfield

: Newman
: Calhoun
: Ruettiger
: Workman
: Lusardi
: MaGee

: My guess is Rudy in CF
: Newman in RF
: Calhoun in LF

: Infield

: Raoul Torrez
: Maggi
: McPhee
: Ricco Torrez
: Abe Ruiz
: Zach Wilson

: I'm guessing the Torrez boys on the corners and M&M in the middle (Maggi - McPhee)

: DH I see Wilson and Ruiz sharing time - in fact, by the start of the season Ruiz may very well be the starting 1st baseman.

: Catcher either Barnes or Pollack

: Pitching is the interesting aspect. I know there are a couple of kids that didn't go particularly high that we're hoping will come to ASU but from what we have in the stable now....

: SP - Ishida RHP
: SP - Blair RHP
: Sp Swaggerty RHP / Lambson LHP

: I think either Lambson or Swaggerty (or both) stay in the pen.

: They also have Brule (RHP), Borup (RHP) and Preach (RHP - who I see coming out of the pen as well. And, of course, there's always Newman (LHP).
