: : : Will you STFU up. I hate to say I told you so, but your boy Murphy may not only have killed the baseball program but maybe the entire athletic program.

: : : Hopefully the proactive work by Lisa Love will save the school from any further embarrassment wrought by Murphy.
: : *****
: : He didn't kill the entire program. Not even close but those who didn't know what a lot of us had heard weeks ago regarding this now look really stupid for calling out Lisa Love and the Department for letting Murphy go so fast.

: : If you don't know any inside information, it is best to keep quiet to avoid looking like a fool when the facts come out.

: .............
: I don't support Murph. But, if LL had said he was forced to resign or she was firing him because of possible ncaa infractions insteasd of saying it had nothing to do with the ncaa, then the guys with no inside information wouldn't have gone nuts. LL had her own report from Ice-Miller and it should have been enough for her to act on.

: I sitll support LL, but I don't think she handled the resign or fire issue very well.

: She gave Murph enough rope to hang himself apparently, and everyone now hopes she didn't hang the whole athletic department too.

Organizations have SOPs in writing. They detail how matters will be dealt with, who will deal with them, the review and training process. I'm sure ASU has these in place to cover all aspects of recruiting. The relationships with outside training companies is a newer activity and our SOPs may not have been up to date or properly written to cover that relationship. It looks to me like the NCAA is using some leverage here to ensure compliance. Most obvious result Murphy is gone. From my reading of the articles the bottom line is Murphy is responsible for the violations. These aren't minor violations. ASU didn't do due diligence in monitoring him. It's up to the AD to prove this situation has been rectified and won't happen again. I think if LL can do that the sanctions will be minimal.
