If the Brewers, I'm assuming your a Brewer fan,
were in the playoffs like the Cubs were and you
were in the same spot as .Bartman, are you telling me that you would have done what Bartman
did or would you have spread your arms, like
the big guy in the pictures did, and try and keep
other fans out of Alous' way. I know what I would
have done, because I have, in the past done what
the big guy did, although it was not in a playoff
game. It is announced before every game not to
interfere with the game. It is just common sense.
So I do not have the same compassion that you have. I agree, to a certain extent, the reaction
of the people of Chicago is a little severe.
Bartman, Little League Coach and lifelong Cub Fan,
as I am, should have known better. What was he thinking? GO ASU
: Bartman did absolutely nothing that any other fan that night would have done. He did NOT reach over onto the field of play...the ball was clearly in the stands. You can argue that he should have pulled back to let Alou try to make the catch but you are talking about going against your nature as a fan and a human to not try to catch a ball coming right at you.
: How the Cub fans treated Bartman is deplorable. He had to go into hiding to get away from the harrassment. Why they didn't get on Baker's case for leaving Prior in too long or the shortsop for booting a ball afterwards the same way is sad.
