Yesterday's shutout snapped a streak of 329 games for the Devils with out being shutout, an amazing streak beginning just over 2 years after the conclusion of the 506 game streak ending February 15, 2004. This current streak began after the April 7, 2006 shutout by Tim Lincecum at Packard. The 506 game streak began after an April 7, 1995 shutout by USC. Not long before the beginning of the 506 game streak, we had another long streak ended at Grand Canyon on April 12, 1994 ( a game shown on TV!), a four year streak that began after the February 16, 1990 shutout at USC.
For those of you that have been around awhile, and remember the Andy Benes shutout in game one of the 1988 regional here, note that the April 2006 shutout by Lincecum is the only shutout of the Devils at Packard since the famous Benes game.
