...stringbeans. R.Peete went on to play QB at USC. Barry Bonds stayed home and went to ASU and played baseball. I think maybe they played against each other. Maybe 1987. Maybe not. They were both real skinny kids. I know we smacked-down Rodney when he played baseball for the Trojans. He was out in left field and dropped a routine fly-ball. I was on the third base line. We were all over Rodney. Then he beat ASU 50-0 in football. Oh well.
We were in old town scottsdale outside the restaurant Bandera's. He talked to us for a few minutes. He had nothing good to say about ASU. We were shocked. I wonder if something happen to him at ASU...
: : : I will never forgive Barry Bonds. I think its awesome he is helping out the family. I know he was a great Sun Devil baseball player but I will never forget his comment he told me when we had a chance to talk for a few minutes. I was with 3 other ASU alumni and he said f--- ASU... I will never respect him..
: : : : : "Former San Fants great (and ASU Sun Devils !!!) Barry Bonds will pay for college for Bryan Stow's kids, according to NBCBayArea.com. Stow is the Giants fan who was severely beaten and left in a coma outside of Dodgers Stadium last month."
: : : : : I have never met Bonds in person but my son has and said he is a great guy. It sounds like he is doing a pretty cool thing here. Hope the Giants fan comes out of this.
: : : : : Still remember him helping out Devils hitters (lefties) at Packard Stadium a few years back.

: : : : HB DEVIL,
: : : : I'm not the biggest Barry Bonds fan, but he does deserve major props for doing this for the Giant fan who was beaten so badly. It would be nice if this got as MUCH press as the negative press that Barry Bonds seems to receive from the media. However, knowing how much Barry Bonds is disliked by the media in general, this is about as much as you will hear about it in my opinion. Go Sun Devils!

: : Bk Devil,
: : Like I said, I'm not the biggest Barry Bonds fan. However, I do feel the media "piles on him" more than they do others who have been linked to steroids in baseball. Granted, Barry probably brought that on himself with the way he treated some of the media, but I do feel that he gets too much of the negative publicity from the media for the steroids era (more than Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa, Rafael Palmeiro, etc.). Go Sun Devils!
