: the historical reference is interesting for trivia buffs.

: But the Big 12 was down this year; the PAC 10 was "typically" tough.

: I have every confidence the Devils can take care of business in Austin.

: UT finished 3rd in the (weak) Big 12 conference tourney, and travelled out of state for only 2 non-conference games - a trip for 3 games to Hawaii, and a trip to Corpus Christi to play TxA&M Corpus.

: This is not a dominating team that ASU is facing. This series will be a challenge, but totally within our reach.

: In the "objective" ratings - Boyd's rpi and isr, etc. - ASU is consistently rated higher. SOS? UT is 73rd, and ASU is 5th. UT didn't play any non-conference teams of merit - other than Stanford (in Austin).

: I say, bring 'em on!

Butterball Devil,
You said that the Longhorns only traveled out of state for two series all season (one in Hawaii, and one in Corpus Christi). Well, Corpus Christi is in the state of Texas. So, they only traveled out of state for one non-conference series.

The key game to this series will be game one because I still think Texas is in our heads from two years ago at the College World Series. Two gut wrenching losses to the Longhorns. If ASU wins game one, I think they will advance to Omaha. If ASU loses game one, then the players might think...here we go again with Texas. Go Sun Devils!
