: This team was obviously not one of the better ASU teams of the past 9 seasons. This current run really started in 2003. We just got screwed in '03 and '04 with getting sent to Fullerton and finally beat them in '05. The new bats really killed this team. Absolutely zero pop at the plate.
: Barrett getting hurt really hurt the pitching staff. Look at the talent level of the Texas pitching staff. Almost every kid they threw in there hit at least 90. I get that velocity isn't everything and that pitching is just getting hitters off balance but velocity sure doesn't hurt and the ASU pitching staff really didn't have much. Lambson is good but he consistently fails to get the job done when it matters. Not his fault that they lost today. He did a very good job but if he's the guy you're leaning on to win you a big game at that level, you have problems.
: The Devils need to bring in some speed, some big time arms, and some power. A couple of these kids have been exposed. MacPhee was a perfect example. BA went down about 100 points with the new bats.
: They simply weren't as talented as Texas. But they did play good baseball and the umpires were absolutely terrible. In the end, they just couldn't put up any runs and that's what did them in.
. Generally, I agree. But Lambson was as good as you can get during this Tx series. The lack of good left hand pitching other than Lambson, and one of the poorer hitting Devil teams I can remember did us in.
Only 3 extra bases hits in the Tx series, kids showing no discipline at the plate, very questionable base running, and having to beat the worse umpiring crew in the NCAA all did us in.
