: : We need a top quality new Head Coach and a HUGE inflow of capital to upgrade our facilities.
: : We are way behind in both and will slip further with this old baseball model.
: : Pat Murphy, IMO, put our program "behind" 10 years.
: : His lack building an organization, rather than his Ego, has and will continue to cost us in the future.
: : Esmay, while nice, is NOT the long-term solution, if we want to return as a Top Five Super Power in NCAA Baseball.
: **** You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Esmay is the perfect fit for this program. He's played at ASU, will do things right and unbelievable baseball coach. Ask his players what they think, and they will tell you they love him. They play hard and relaxed and MLB draft ready.
: Unless you've been inside the four walls at Packard as a player or coach which I doubt you have by your comments just support the program and keep quiet. The Glory days of the 60's & 70's are over buddy. ASU has a storied tradition & I'm very proud to have been a part of it but the playing field has been leveled buddy. The SEC didn't even exist when ASU was winning those Championships and this year they have two teams in the CWS. I played at ASU during the Murphy era and the program is in great hands. The fact that this team was 9 outs from the CWS is amazing. Loss of Cory Hahn, Barrett, MacPhee bad year and young pitching staff. I think Coaching did a great job.
Excellent point! This team and coaching staff shold be very pround considering all the adversity they have faced this year. I love it when these No-not's outside the program express their frustrations.
