::No way Holliday leaves OSU. The only way I could see that happening is if the admin there continued to push back a large renovation of their stadium, which needs to be done. They have spent a ton of money on football there but that doesn't necessarily mean there's tons for baseball. But with the Big 12 just splitting up a huge chunk of change amongst its members for TV rights, etc. I think their baseball facility reno will happen soon. Holliday's ties are really deep at OSU. His dad coached there and I believe he attended high school in Stillwater. On top of that he played at OSU. I can't see him leaving unless ASU offered life changing money (double what he's currently making at OSU). Plus he's seen the ASU program from the inside. He may or may not like the potential for the program to grow. If he turned down a ton of money from ASU then that tells us a lot about how this job is viewed from the outside.
: One thing that I have noticed is that most fans don't think that Ray Anderson is willing to do a big spend here. I think that may not be the case based on his comments. The only big spend on the list at the top of this thread is Savage. I think that ASU will start with some of the bigger names. I have even heard that they will inquire about Josh Holiday at Oklahoma State. Personally I don't see why he would leave there, since he played there and they can out spend us no matter what we do. I think Schlossnagle would be a more attainable big spend, although I already hate having to type his name. I also think they should look into O'Connor at Virginia. I believe he expressed interest in the job at the time Murphy was fired. Savage might be more attainable than most think if we are willing to do the buyout. UCLA may be homeless soon. I do not want to see Murphy brought back. While he accomplished a lot here, he caused a lot more trouble than he is worth and I don't believe he would last 5 years in a second go around. If we can't get 1 of the top tier guys, I like Staneiwicz. But I think we need to aim high. This is one of the top jobs in college baseball and the addition of Muni makes it even more attractive than it was 5 years ago.
: : Not sure why Knutson's name would be on here....he was a disaster at Washington and here.
: : I like Murphy, but I doubt there is anyway in hell ASU would ever re-hire him, since his actions caused ASU to be put on probation.
