: losing one game to TN (whatevers) cost ASU dearly in the RPI, and this is what essentially places the national seeds.
: from 14 to 23 in one week.
: now a much bigger hill to climb to have a chance. short of sweeps in more than one series - and "must" win series, we cannot afford to lose to a non-ranked team, and further, need for the 22 above us to drop several games each.
Rpi is not the only basis of top 8 seeding. It isn't weighted anymore then the other criteria the committee uses.
Of course the loss hurt badly. If the team keeps winning series, the seeding will take care of itself. Thats a big if with the performance tonight at au.
