The Devils lost pitcher Eder Erives, who was struck in the head by a line drive in the fifth inning. Erives, was knocked to the ground then sat up before being helped off the filed. Erives was transported to a hospital for tests and reported by a team representative to be in satisfactory condition. He is expected to return to Phoenix with the team by plane Wednesday morning then return to a hospital for further observation.
