Several of the fans at the game on Sunday, including many of the parents thought we would be headed to the UCSB regional. That is why I posted before learning that we were headed to Fullerton. I still cannot believe UCSB's regional is being played over 100 miles away from their home field, in the middle of no where. Lights of no lights.
: We don't play in UCSB's regional at Lake Elsinore we play in Fullerton. And we won't get UCLA in the SR, we get the winner of the Louisville regional.
: : Devils played well overall. One bad pitch, and some mental errors running the bases (Snow getting picked off of second base) kept them from winning. The Republic's account of the last play of the game did not do it justice. With man on first and third, Aboites hit a deep drive to left center. Most people at the game including Aboites thought the ball had cleared the fence. As it turns out the left fielder made a diving catch on the warning track.
: : This team shows a lot of heart but does not have enough talent. Our pitching staff is not strong enough to match the small ball hitters in the line up. Out top HR hitter has 5 for the season. We need power hitting and more power pitchers. Opposing pitchers have no fear pitching to any of our hitters as we lack any power.
: : Our pitching is not strong enough to match an offense that is only capable of scoring three runs. The regional being played in the middle on no where is a head scratcher. While UCSB had a record worthy of a regional "hosting" at a venue 100 miles from no where makes no sense, whatsoever. Not a money maker for the local economy and no one is going to be in attendance.
: : Hoping for ASU to advance so I can go watch them at UCLA in the SR.
: : Go Devils!
: : Devils were well represented at the game.
