Beating Notre Dame (shades of Pat Murphy) is nice, but I have no idea if the Irish are even respectable. Let's assume they are. Good for ASU and CTS. Get the sweep.
Aaron Fitt thinks ASU is worthy of mention. As we all know, early schedule games are "fun", but conference play is serious. And this season, every indication is that the PAC12 is more than legit. Would love to see several PAC12 teams at Omaha, yet I remain concerned whether ASU retains any maps. Playing with such a depleted count of players does not bode well, and if the comment I saw really is from CTS - i.e., that the guys at the bottom end of the chart are just potential problems - then we really do have an issue. To be clear, there should always be players in development. this is how you "re-load" each season, without having to re-build.
As everyone has stated, pitching is the "wild card" for the season. ASU may have to win games with football scores, apparently. At least we have a dedicated pitching coach. I just don't think we have enough arms.
it is time to end the ban on playing GCU in baseball, basketball, or any other sport. Screw the issue about competing in "e-education". The fact there is a D-1 college baseball showcase in the Valley of the Sun, without ASU is really nuts. Why not have an early season round robin tourney with ASU, GCU, and some Midwest teams (who are still practicing indoors) in the local venues?
I don't think any of the current players were even alive when ASU and GCU had their "fracas on the field", etc., and likely don't even know about the historical "bad blood". Just schedule the game(s) and settle it on the field.
I am really happy the season has started, but have a great deal of doubt. please show me that my concerns are not justified.
