As the whole essence of “taco Tuesday” is to sell tacos below their regular price I certainly wouldn’t order a taco at Muni any other day of the week. I don’t think I have ever eaten a $10 taco in my life.
About 3 weeks ago I went to watch and ASU game and it was their highly advertised "Taco Tuesday" night game. That sounded like a great "double header" as I had not yet been able to go watch an ASU game this year.
: Excitedly myself and a good and rabid ASU friend headed to the game with a taco hunger and an anticipation of seeing a great game. Playing the Long Beach State "dirtbags" and feasting on tacos would be a "win win" slam dunk great evening.........WRONG!!!
: After finding our seats we immediately headed for the refreshment stand for tacos and a cold beer. We were somewhat surprised that there was only a small line of customers ahead of us, but paid little attention. When we got to the front of the line my friend said, "you drove, I'll buy the tacos." I said, "fair enough". We placed our order for 4 tacos. After a few minutes the young lady who took our order came back with two containers or two tacos each. She handed them to us and then said that will be "FORTY DOLLARS" please............$40.00. forty frickin' dollars??? I said "come on, how much is it really? She repeated "FORTY DOLLARS, 10.00 APIECE. My friend and I couldn't believe it. No wonder there was such a small line in front of us. We reluctantly paid and went back to our seats. The tacos were "OK", but that is all. Then, on top of that, the "Dirtbags", the Mighty Dirtbags, who ha won all of 3 games to that point absolutely kicked ASU's ass.
: What we thought was going to be a good ASU win, on a great night with delicious tacos, turned out to be anything but. For being such a great "business school" ASU has a lot to learn about "marketing". I hope that they do better in the classroom then in the baseball stadium. However, the beer was COLD, so all was not lost. GO DEVILS!!!
