Of all the hires anderson has made, the hiring of Smith was his worst. When evaluating a coach and the state of an athletic program, Anderson says he looks at the entire body of work. At least that's the criteria he used in deciding to fire Todd Graham. If he applies the same standard the conclusion is inescapable: our once elite baseball program hasn't progressed during smith's tenure. No conference titles and continually getting eliminated in the regionals of the tournament. The reality is, 7 years under Smith and what do we have to show for it? No conference titles and no deep runs in the tournament. No appearances in the college world series. 7 years is more than enough time for smith to bring in his own recruits. Things haven't improved.i apologize for sounding like a broken record but I'm not satisfied with mediocrity!
