There is nothing about Smith that impresses me other than some of the talent he's brought in. But I'm sick of hearing that next year will be the year. So we get another year of not winning a conference title and most likely being eliminated in the regionals. Thats mediocre and is unacceptable for a program who used to be contending for the conference title and making deep runs in the tournament. This program is going in the wrong direction. Anderson needs to cut his losses and fire Smith. He cannot manage the bullpen. He has shown that over and over. Last night is a perfect example. Justin fall gave us 5 solid innings. For whatever reason he put fall in to pitch the 6th. Thats when the wheels fell off and the usc hitters started teeing off on him. Our brilliant head coach (I'm being sarcastic) didn't pull him until we were down 5 to 1. Fall had thrown 90 pitches. He usually gets us through 5 innings and then a reliever comes in. We did have the bases loaded in the 9th with 1 out but a batter struck out and Lampe grounded out. It's too bad the bats couldn't give fall some run support. Now we have to hope Kai Murphy can give us a solid outing and that the offense gives him some run support
