Only because you asked - here is what the SID will be asked to release:
Coach Tracy Smith was given a contract extension of an additional year, in light of the particularly gritty, and overall successful 2021 season for the ASU Sun Devils. Following the season ending injuries before the first game, to the top pitchers on the squad, it was the "all hands on deck" attitude that allowed ASU to win all but 2 of the series against PAC12 conference opponents.
AD Ray Anderson expressed his confidence and expectation, in announcing the contract extension: "This season represents the kind of results ASU is known for - the upper half of the PAC12 Conference - and we expect more of the same from Coach Smith. This season is ending much like the other 6 - just wait until next year! We are just plain lucky to have Coach Smith stay at ASU - in fact, I am getting calls nearly each week from MLB programs asking permission to speak with him."
