I think this is a pride thing for anderson...he hired Smith. It has backfired big time. I don't think he wants to admit he made a mistake by hiring Smith and then extending his contract. If we have another meltdown in the regionals like we did in 2019 vs southern miss, I would imagine the calls to fire Smith would grow even louder. I think the boosters have to pony up the money to buy him out. Notice every year Smith says "next year is going to be the year"? And it hasn't panned out. In the seasons we have made it into the tournament we get eliminated in the regionals. I hope anderson grows a set and cans Smith after this season is over!
