Remember what anderson said when he fired Graham? That he evaluated the entire body of work and that 2nd place in the pac 12 conference and an average bowl game wasn't acceptable? That it was his expectation that we contend for and win our division and go to the rose bowl? So why can't he use the same criteria to evaluate Smith and the baseball program? Basically it comes down to wins and losses, contending for and winning the conference title and making deep runs in the tournament. Look at smith's record here. Barely above .500 in 7 seasons. No conference titles. Getting eliminated in the regionals year in and year out. The baseball program is mediocre. We used to be an elite program. Not anymore. If we have another meltdown in the regionals like we did in 2019 it might force anderson to make a change. The reality is Smith hasn't gotten the job done. Time to can him and move on.
