There are exceptions of course, I could never see Kush coaching at au under any circumstance. Schembechler at Ohio State, Coach K at Carolina, etc. By an large though, coaches do not develop a sense of long term committment like fans do. They are hired to be fired and are always looking out for what's best for themselves. Which is not a bad thing at all.

...Ohio State under Woody Hayes before he took the head job at Michigan. I think Bo coached the offensive line for Woody if I'm not mistaken. I understand what you are saying, but I think a lot of coaches would coach at a rival school if the price was right. Once again, I said a lot of coaches, not every coach. Go Sun Devils!
