: (SD)She should be a big help in the backcourt, she looks like a scorer which is what ASU needs.Davis put up 44 pts in the State Semifinal game against Fresno City College, was named MVP of the tournament also made the All State team plus was named State and South Coast Conf POY while avg 20 ppg at Mount Sac.
: I thought she looked like a bigger version of Dymond has a similiar game like Dymond.I think with Dymond,Bri, Danielle and now Jazlyn Davis along with Alex Earl, we should get more scoring from the backcourt.I'm starting to feel alot better of next season, who knows we may be able to make a nice run this coming season! I have no idea where those players are transferring to, just that they are moving on.

: : Sand what do you know about Davis? She seems like a steal, she originally committed to USC out of HS but I guess something didn't work out I have my guesses but I won't start rumors. Do you happen to know where some of those P-10 transfer other than Bennett (WSU) are headed?
: : Also a note, just because Wilber did in fact leave, let's not get the transfer rumor mill going again.
: :
: : : (SD)Glad to see CTT adding much needed help in the backcourt.Davis is a good addition will be a bigger version of Dymond Simon, not afraid of taking it up the middle into the paint for a layup, she should get some good mins at ASU.
: : : Noticed some movement of Pac 10 WBB players including ASU, as was posted by Slim.Kali Bennett
: : : has left Washington.Tamika Nurse has left Oregon.
: : : Neabors twins, Rheaya & Rhaya have left Arizona and Stephanie Wilber has left ASU.Kathy Olivier has been hired as the new WBB head coach at UNLV.
That's Olivier's alma mater, so it's a good fit.
Still, it makes you wonder. UCLA watched Cal fire Karen Hortsmeyer after she recruited Hampton, Walker and Lawson, Joanne Boyle comes in and goes to three straight NCAA's. You would think if a coach brings in big time talent, she should get the chance to coach them.
We're in a period where schools are recognizing the revenue potential of a strong women's basketball program, and unfortunately some good coaches are not getting the time they need to put those kind of programs in place. I don't think UCLA's move is going to work out, it already appears Washington may have made a mistake that Washington State is going to take full advantage of, and Cal may come to regret its decision as well. What do they have after the Big Three leave?
Sorry, I'm rambling...

: : : : TEMPE, Ariz.- Arizona State head women's basketball coach Charli Turner Thorne today announced that junior college All-American Jazlyn Davis has signed a letter of intent to study and play basketball at ASU.
: : : : A 5-9 guard, Davis comes to ASU after two seasons at Mt. SAC (Calif.) Community College, where she helped lead the Mounties to state titles in 2007 and 2008.
: : : : "Jazlyn Davis is a dynamic player who will be an outstanding addition to our program," said Turner Thorne. "She is a strong and skilled player who can play all three guard positions. Besides being a proven scorer and great decision-maker, Jazlyn will bring great perimeter defense. She is intelligent and hardworking and she comes to us with a championship mentality. We are thrilled she chose to be a Sun Devil."
: : : : This past season, Davis earned WBCA JC/CC All-America honors and was named State and South Coast Conference Player of the Year following a campaign in which she averaged 20.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 3.0 steals per game. She connected on 50.4 percent of her field goal attempts, including 44.1 percent from three-point range. Davis, who was named the MVP of the California State Championship Tournament, scored 20 or more points 18 times, including a career-best and school record 44 in a state tournament semifinal win over Fresno City.
: : : : Davis graduated from Toledo (Ohio) Bowsher High where she concluded her career as Bowsher's all-time leading scorer with 1,838 total points. A four-year basketball letterwinner at guard, Davis averaged 23.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 4.4 steals per game as a senior on her way to first-team all-state recognition.
: : : : Davis becomes the fourth new addition to ASU's 2008-09 squad, joining Kimberly Brandon (Chatsworth, Calif.), Alex Earl (Beaverton, Ore.) and Janae Fulcher (La Jolla, Calif.), who signed with the Sun Devils last fall.
