Wow, first time I have been able to post in this site in a long time, glad the board is working again!
Alot has happened since I last posted, most importantly the season began.ASU opened with a 73-64 win over a tough S Dakota St team.ASU is on a East coast trip beating Yale last night 82-46 and will play in Cincinnati,Ohio against Xavier tomorrow.
Make no mistake this is a huge game for ASU, both teams are highly rated and this game will be one of the top matchups this weekend.ASU beat Xavier last season in Tempe, winning 75-57.ASU was led by Bri January in that game with 16 pts but this is a very different ASU team from the one that made the elite eight last season.
ASU's strength this season should be it's low post which will be much improved over last year, as a matter of fact this game with Xavier will be a big test for ASU's front court since Xavier's strength is it's front court.
Xavier starts 6-6 center Ta'Shia Phillips,6-5 forward Amber Harris and 6-0 forward April Phillips.Harris did not play against ASU last season but she's playing now!Harris had a big game against USC,leading Xavier with a win over the Trojans in their opening game.Hopefully Becca, Kayli,Kali Bennett, Janae Fulcher and Joy Burke can hold their own against these Xavier players,whoever controls the low post will most likely win this game!
