Hey, we just beat Arizona for the ninth straight time! Okay, some of the knuckle-draggers can't bring themselves to watch women's basketball, let alone ackonowledge that the sport exists, but c'mon, didn't anyone take some unabashed joy out of watching that yesterday?
We win four straight, and the only new posts are for drugs?
You know, we're blessed. Two great basketball coaches, but only one seems to get any run at Cactus Ranch. Not saying Herb doesn't deserve it, he does, but where's the love for CTT?
This message isn't directed at you...you go to this board like I do, and you probably wonder the same thing. Sand, Slim, Lady Devil Fan...not worried about you...but where's Weird Harold, Sun Devil Pat and all the others who profess their love for all things Maroon and Gold, but have never once uttered a word about a program that's been to five consecutive NCAA Tournaments, two Elite Eights and three Sweet Sixteens? Gender bias, perhaps?
Schools like Baylor, Oklahoma, Tennessee, UConn and Stanford have big crowds, loyal followings, and ASU's on court performance the last five years is on a par with those programs. Yet, we struggle to get 2,500 people into Wells Fargo. Some of it is the Athletic Department -- hey marketing, you can run ads for women's games too, it's not against the rules -- some of it is lack of media attention, but I think the biggest problem is a fan base that wouldn't know a successful program if it bit them in the nose.
Okay, since the majority of Sun Devil Nation is fixated on the men, here's a question for them -- how did we get Herb in the first place? Answer: He felt unappreciated at North Carolina State. You keep ignoring CTT and her program, and it'll happen again. This time, at ASU.
