... Tonight's game against Cal is a must-win game if ASU wants to get into the NCAA Tournament. As it is, it is a long shot at this point.
ASU needs to sweep the Bay Area schools this week and finish the first half of conference play at least 6-3. ASU will then need to go at least 6-3 in the second half of conference play to finish the regular season 22-9 (12-6 in the Pac-10). With a couple of wins in the conference tournament, I think ASU is in with a 24-10 record.
If ASU can sweep the Bay Area schools this weekend, I think we crawl back into the upper 60s for RPI.
All of this goes to show how critical the close OOC games are. A win over Baylor would be huge for us right now. Same thing happened in the 2007-2008 seaosn when we were left out. You absolutely CANNOT give away wins, especially at home in OOC play.
