Both teams are pretty schizophrenic. More than Cal this year who is loaded with seniors. ASU lives and dies with the outside shot a bit. But things are getting better. For example, Lockett is more of a double threat to take the ball inside than they've had in the past. With the obvious exception being Harden. And we have him for 3 more years. That's why he was the only ASU player that scored after the first 5 minutes of the game. It's tough when the game is over at the 15 minute mark of the first half. Still they fight, and that makes them fun to watch. Especially when they make the pressure D work, and start to find their range with the outside shot. You can't start a game like that at Washington with their offensive weopanry.
As for the USC game, I couldn't believe the USC defense. And UCLA was lights out. I expect ASU to close strong winning at home against all and pulling an upset in Berkeley or Tuscum. But ASU cannot afford to take nights off. They are just not that good yet.
