Actually i have probably been going to ASU games since before you were born. Started in the mid 70's, Was there when we had Scott, Lever, Lister, Nimphius and Sam Williams as our starting 5. Finished the regular season ranked 5th or 6th and then got beat in the first round. By K state i believe. I also coached some High School Bball in Az and have been involved in AAU Bball also,so I do think I know a little about Bball.
Yes Herb is better than we have had but I don't think he has recruited a bunch of talent. Most of this squad is nothing better than average pac 10 players.
I do not see a single NBA talent person on this roster. Every year with the exception of this year 5-6 teams go to the NCAA from the PAC. If we do not make it this year it will be one appearance in 5 years and although that is better than the past it is still not acceptable.I support HERB but would like to see a litle better talent coming in. This is the worse the Pac 10 has ever been and we still will probably not make the tourney. I know it takes time and I will continue to go as always but I do think Dstyle has a valid point that it is nothing to hang our hat on.
