: Today AZ Republic's Doug Haller lists names of BB players being targeted by Coach Hurley and his coaches.
: All I can say....WOW....if he lands a number of them, Wells Fargo will never be the same!
: Goooooo Devils!!!!

Well I spent last week in Vegas watching ASU basketball recruits for my 23rd year. I saw most of the 2016 players the Devils are after. I also talked to Bobby Hurley, Rashon Burno, and Brian Merritt. I had the chance to watch Jethro Tshisumpa who just committed to ASU for 1 and a half games. If you have the chance to watch the videos of him do it. Watching him block shots is better in person. He is 6'9" 260lbs and it is amazing to watch him get up in the air so quickly. He has a 7'6" wing span so he reminds me of Bill Russell how he can block shots. I was at Gorman gym to see Thon Maker fake out Edrice "Bam" Adebayo on a play that the whole gym went wild about. I had a chance to ask someone who is knowledgeable on recruiting about our chances for the two Maker brothers. He feels it will be hard to beat out the big money schools but the coaches not giving up. Adebayo is supposedly headed to NCState. I got to see Sam Cunliffe and he is an excellent 2/3 player. One of the players I was most impressed with is Mario Kegler. I saw him twice. I had heard he is a wing but the way he played he has grown into a power forward. I hope Sam Cunliffe can sway him to come to ASU. De'Ron Davis is an excellent center prospect but with Jethro on board we may stop recruiting him. Brendan Bailey is excellent wing. Glad to see the staff gong after him. I saw Mitch Lightfoot. His AZ Power Black squad was overmatched against the Meanstreets club. He and the guard from Corona, Lee, played really hard but Meanstreets was too much. I did not get to see Taurean Thompson or the 2017's Marcus Howard, DJ Harvey, Jaylen Hands, Billy Preston or Charles O'Bannon. Howard I saw a number of times last season along with Barcello and Marvin Bagley so I didn't feel too bad that I did not make it one of their games. Prichard the 2016 point guard was a player ASU started recruiting just before Vegas so did not see him. It was another fun year watching players in Vegas. The best setup for watching players is the Adidas tournament at the Cashman Center. 7, yes 7 courts under one roof.
