1. The difference between Sendek and Hurley is striking. The biggest being the court freedom that Hurley gives his players. The same players that played last year have much more confidence under Hurley. I also see the confidence that players coming off the bench have. With Herb there seemed to be this fear of making mistakes or taking bad shots. The negative of this is the team does make more mistakes and takes more bad shots (Kodi Justice would have played about 5 minutes last night with some of the shots/decision he made).
2. That game last night was one of the most biased officiated games I've ever seen. There were about 10 really bad calls and at least 7 went against ASU. The worst of which was Ellenson shoving Atwood with his off arm, then running over Atwood. He literally committed two blatant offensive fouls and they called a block. How Hurley did not get tossed is beyond me. There was also a play near the end of regulation where Goodman got his arm almost taken off and they called the ball off his leg. I'm not one to complain about officiating, but ASU should be 4-1 and Legends Classic Champions.
