Syracuse is the master of the 2-3 zone. We saw it this season run by Mike Hopkins, former assistant at Syracuse. They are a big team. As the 3 guards go that determines if they win or lose. Tyus Battle 6'6' 19.8 pts a game. Frank Howard 6'5" 15 ppg and Oshae Brisett 6'7" wing, 14.7pgm. They determine the Orangemen's fortunes. The inside players are: Pashal Chukwu 7'2", a shot blocker prone to foul trouble. Markel Dolezaj 6'9" rounds out the starters. They only go 7 deep with Mathew Moyer and Bourama Sidble 6'10", seeing limited minutes due to health issues. They don't have a great resume with a win over Clemson being the best win. If ASU gets back to playing like they did in the preseason with the 3 seniors all having double figure games along with Remy,
ASU can win. Need Melo, DQ and Mickey to rebound and score off of feeds from the guards. Most of all we need to pressure them into making mistakes. A tall order for the team we saw in much of the conference season. If the Nov-Dec magic returns who knows what they might achieve. Still no matter what happens I am happy they made the Dance for the Seniors. This a good foundation for the future with the recruits we have sitting out and coming in next season.
