: : Yahoo Sports did a story on Deandre Ayton and the world of Club basketball, sometimes called AAU which is incorrect. I got a notice on my phone and also it was mentioned in the PAC-12 newsletter that I get that is written by Jon Wilner. Have went so many years to Vegas in July that in the early years I heard many stories of the dealings that take place with the 5 star players. The article is written by Jeff Elsenberg, Pat Forde and Pete Thamel. You need to read the total story but it tells about the number of handlers that Ayton had since he came to US. How most big name schools backed off his recruiting because of potential NCAA penalties. When his mother came to US with his 3 brothers she moved him to Phoenix from San Diego. The trail dries up then but the question left unanswered is who was paying to cover there living here and his enrollment at Hillcrest Academy. Story on CBS 5 TV tells the cost is $20,000 to go there. Someone had to be paying to cover the year or two he was there, family living here etc. The leaked story about being asked $100,000 to get him to U4 makes sense. The writers reasoning that NCAA felt sorry for how he was treated by all the handlers he had, doesn't make sense I thought. So that was the reason NCAA approved his eligibility. Side story talks about Bagley's dad shows how a parent can use their kid to make money from a shoe company. The total story is very lengthy but well worth the time.
: Where is the link?
