Look at my posts the last 3 years. This is nothing new. We always play the same way. It is magnified now because we are losing. But we have never run an offense based on "team" ball. We were doing the same things early this year. The only difference is that Remy was making enough of the terrible shots he takes to keep us in games, which kept our defensive energy up. This in turn had us creating turnovers and getting transition baskets.
The bottom line, and this has been the case for Hurley's entire tenure here. . . if we don't create turnovers and get out on the break and thus the game is played in the half court, we are literally a terrible basketball team that has almost no chance to beat a good team.
Hurley has turned the program around with his recruiting. But we grossly underachieved last year and people need to start realizing that. We had 7 players on our roster that were top 100 recruits out of high school. Not many teams can say that. And yet we were barely made the tournament.
It needs to be said that without the expansion to 68 teams Hurley would be looking at 5 years and zero NCAA tournament appearances. Unless somehow he turns this season around.
: Something is wrong with this team, and the last two games have brought it to light. You can just tell there is by watching the players and their attitudes and demeanor. There is no "spark", and no "attitude" in any of them, they are just "there" playing "me" ball with no "team" ball. The only one to show any "spark" is Romelo, but he has no support. Don't know what it is, but Bobby had better figure it out quickly or this "promising" season is going to slip away quickly. GO DEVILS!!!
