It was not just Hurley calling out the refs. The team resorts to taking ridiculous long jump shots and there is no reason, or opportunity, to foul the players. Still, ONE shooting foul and NO one-and-one opportunities in an entire half is almost impossible to explain. Or believe.
: I don't think it had anything to do with that, or at least not all to do with that. First off Hurley screams at officials all game long. That is going to create far more animosity than post game comments about one single play. Secondly ASU is way to easy to defend. You don't need to foul them. None of their passing, screening, or cutting puts any pressure on the defense. So the offense ends up being Remy, Verge, or Christopher trying to force penetration. And that is pretty easy to defend as well. Officials are not going to reward forced penetration developed from bad offense. And they shouldn't. Watch ASU pass the ball around on the perimeter. All it generally does is waste time.
