Eugene or Tempe, it doesn't matter.

They're just not a mature fanbase with generations of success to learn how to handle it. Unlike USC alums/fans that expect to win but (generally) walk away stoically when they lose still thinking they're better than you, Duck fans are more like the young, rich, spoiled brats given a BMW to drive to school. They think they're all that, and when adversity strikes they don't handle it with class.

A couple of examples:

In 1998 in Eugene, it was like the Lord of the Flies (sans the pig head on a spike). They were loud and obnoxious all around us. It was so bad that even the PA announcer made an obnoxious joke about a Steve Campbell completion (to Section 24) when a pass got away from him in the wet weather.

In 2010 in Tempe, we had a group of classless Duck fans behind us that just wouldn't shut up - talking arrogant shit the whole time. When ASU pushed them to the brink, they had loud, obnoxious things to say and didn't give a damn about those around them. Think douchy, belligerent drunk - only they hadn't had any.

My old neighbors were from Oregon and were Ducks fans (they moved back to Oregon after about two years here). Dissing their Ducks wasn't cool with them, and they always seemed to have an excuse why the Ducks didn't get it done. Even their two big, stupid Bumpus dogs were dicks...

I generally give fanbases a pass (there are ASU ahole fans that embarrass us at times), but it's usually best to think of Oregon fans as guilty until proven innocent.
