The important thing was we never went away. We kept coming back. We doggedly kept on their trail. Every time they built a bigger margin, we were able to come back and put pts on the board. By the start of the 4th Qtr they thought they had the margin big enough to just play out the remainder of the game. When they relaxed we just kept coming after them. The first big turnover was Tate making a bad decision to throw into coverage instead of just throwing it away. The bad decision was compounded by a bad throw.
The second turnover was sloppy handling of the ball or else the back thought the QB was taking the ball. Maybe he was looking where he was going to run instead of securing the ball. Like I said before, it looked like they were more tired than we were and that causes mental errors and weakens you physically.
We could have easily blown that game but they made the mistakes and we did not. That says something about our preparation. I hope this carries over into the bowl game.
