This is the sum total of Anderson's part
"In an exchange with Scott, Arizona State athletic director Ray Anderson wrote:
"'Tough but appropriate action on your part. Here to support you. Let me know if you need my direct assistance.'
"Scott thanked Anderson and said:
“'A good, tough learning experience and we move on,” adding: “It’s been especially tough on Woodie who is distraught over this and if you haven’t reached out already I know how much he respects you and would appreciate hearing from you.'”
This means little. I once had a boss who was a real hardass. He wasn't incompetent, he just overworked and underpaid until he had to replace his employees. Common practice for money-first people. Do you think I ever responded to anyone in an official capacity, "Dear so-and-so who doesn't work here but knows Boss, I'm here in the office putting salve in my anus because of how bad it is here; if Boss's car flew into Tempe Town Lake, it would save me the trouble of quitting; Boss sucks."
Ray Anderson works for Crow, and has to walk that company line.
Scott is just a victim of bad timing and ideas that went horribly wrong. That sucks. Probably a good guy. He should maybe be the commissioner of a high school district sports league.
