Rankings really don't matter this time of year IMO

I guess if makes fans feel like their program is respected, but it is primarily there so sports networks can hype and promote regular season games IMO.

Everyone knows a tourney at the end will determine the final outcome, and RPI will largely determine who gets in outside of conference champs with auto bids.

Pro sports with season ending tournies have never ranked teams, other than where their record puts them in their division, as the PAC will for us once in conference play. Who cares if some media service ranks the NE Patriots higher than the NO Saints in mid season? No one.

I think the mid-season rankings largely evolved for college football, back when there was no tourney, which is not long ago. College hoops has always been more like pro sports, with a post-season tourney.

Just win baby :-)
