Hi ALL. Long time viewer, former sword-slasher and friends to all M&G.

I was a new arrival into Phoenix / Williams AFB. Aircraft crew-chiefing and jet engine repair. Never out west before and left Cleveland Hopkins AP with two/three 'layers' of USAF uniform. Got to SH into 80+ and shed fast. 18 years old.

Later that year - having grown up Ohio State I didn't care about ASU until the upcoming Fiesta Bowl in late-December - where ASU shamed Nebraska into coming west for a game NU felt WAY beneath them. An AF friend, Nebraska farm boy Air Traffic Controller - got two tickets and promised the Huskers would not only win but win huge. He was also pissed off that the ASU supporters sent a lot of 'frozen chickens' to Lincoln to taunt his mighty Huskers. OK, I'll go. We scored a ride from the base to and from the game.

The game was incredible and while my friend was deflated for sure = he gave big props up to the Devils for winning the game. We were in contact off-and-on until 2013, when he passed of a sudden heart attack.

Well, I got my first ASU Season Tickets in 1981 - and except for two years when I lived in Louisville and LA = I got them back - and so ASU has been my passion for what, 35 of the last 37 years!

Go Devils!
