I read another story that stated that few recruiting services ventured to Hawaii because of the time and expense required to evaluate a handful of ranked players. Therefore, Mariota was the victim of armchair evaluators grading him from the mainland based on stories and statistics. BTW, the ESPN site had his 40 time wrong as well.
