The schedule is set up for success, in my opinion. ASU plays 7 home games, 5 Pac-12 at home. They don't have to play Washington, or Stanford, which is HUGE!!! The next two toughest teams from the Pac-12 North are probably Oregon and Washington State, ASU has both of them in Tempe this season. Oregon State and California are very winnable road games for ASU.
It all comes down to how well the quarterback plays. If one of the young, inexperienced quarterbacks turns out to be good, then I don't see any reason why ASU can't win at least 8 football games. Of course, staying healthy is a factor. ASU, like most college football teams not named Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, or Oklahoma, lacks depth. Keeping your starters healthy plays a key role a teams success.
The defense should get better, although defensive line is a concern. I think ASU goes 8-4 overall, 6-3 in the Pac-12 Conference. This program needs to start taking steps forward, another 7-5 season would be stagnant with 2017, & 18. It's time to move forward. Go Sun Devils!
