No, the opponent was Wichita State. At that time ASU dressed at Goodwin Stadium, which was located near the intersection of College and Apache. The team took the bus back to Goodwin, at which point coach Kush ran the team back to SDS where the team practiced for an extended period of time, about 2 hours. This was an ASU team that had Charlie Taylor and Tony Lorrick to mention just two great offensive weapons. What is most intriguing about Coach Kush, to a player each said they were glad when Saturday arrived because the game was easier than the week of practice. That philosophy is what CHE just talked about in the HBO show. The week of practice should be tougher than the game
Too bad some of the lore of Sun Devil football is being lost. But with the media folks in Phoenix there is no instutional history of ASU football. Folks need to rely on old guys like Bill S., Harry R. And Paul H. Old timers know who these folks are and their memory of ASU football. Or, Bob Davies who sits behind me. My guess is there are no more than dozen of so folks who know who Bob Davies is unless you first do a Google search. Too bad, but the current regime has no interest that means Ray and Michael.
