Hard to say which one fully applies. Interestingly, the DC in this situation was in the same position in 1994. His defense in 1996 played lights out in several games that we hold in great reverence. I just wish he could have found a way to close that season out! Some people here say he used the prevent defense just one time too often. Baylor should hope that he has learned his lesson if they are lucky enough to get in the same position!
Snyder followed much of the same pattern from 1992 - 1996. However, he didn't have to worry about a transfer portal. I can only imagine the nightmare of having a 1-11 season with our current fan base in the September games. Some may not remember, but ASU gave half-price season tickets to 1996 season ticket holders for purchasing up another half of their full season ticket allotment. Even that did not fill up the stadium early in the season. I believe one of the player's fathers ended up purchasing several thousand tickets at I believe $5 a piece to make the Washington game close to a sellout. Even with probably 20,000 or more Nebraska fans in the stadium to watch their nightmare there were still empty seats around me in the south endzone. It wasn't until the USC game that the stadium had no problem being full. It is sad that so many missed a full season of some of the most compelling ASU football ever played. Hence, the bandwagon that is ASU football fandom.
At least their DC has been through it once before!
