For most programs, development of solid 3-star players is essential for the program's success. That means recruiting them, developing them and getting them on the field. The thing that killed Graham was his tinkering with such players until they were without a position. These 3 and 4 star Lost Boys were the same as voids in the recruiting classes. Solid teams such as Washington and Utah had the same basic bell-shaped recruiting profile, but they did a much better job of getting all these players productive and on the field. ASU - not so much. Of course it would be nice to have 70 4/5 star players like USC, but that's not going to happen at ASU.
