I have to admit, I didn't know what I have been talking about. The coaching staff had a game plan that absolutely worked. They were prepared. Surprisingly to me, our offensive line gave Daniels alll the time he needed. One thing that I have agreed with, since the beginning, was the way Likens has protected & gradually developed Danials into the special quarterback he has become. When was the last time we had a quarterback that could throw the 'long ball anywhere near as consistently accurate as Danials. The offense has suddenly become an impossibility difficult group to stop. ASU might have one of the best, along with usc, receiving corps in college football. How can you stop those guys with their speed and technique. If you throw in a quarterback that can perform the way Danials has and a running back with more heart than nearly any I've seen you have suddenly, even with the still developing offensive line, become good enough to beat an excellent top 5 ranked, Oregon team.
I never felt this kind of Win was possible. ASU has played against four ranked teams and beaten thre of them. ASU has a 6 win and 5 loss season and believe it or not ars ranked 31st in the nation. With any kind of luck in a couple of games we would be at least a top 20 team may be a top 15 team. I have been one of the most vocal critics of this coaching staff,...I now have 'gotten on the band wagon' hopefully I'm not kicked off. Congratulation to the team anda special congratulations to the coaching staff, ( that includes Edwards.)
We have a chance to end up with an 8 and 5 record and be ranked in the top 25. Who would have thought.
Let's beat that team down South.
Let's recruit some great offensive line men, more good receivers and whatever else we need.
By the way I thought our defensive backs played their best game of the year.
