Fun to see that you were 10 at that game. I was weeks from turning 10 at the 1978 USC game which was a major emotional event capping many great times at SDS. Many of my sports firsts were there and I learned a lot about life sitting for hours mostly with my dad and sometimes my mom. My first candy apple at a BYU day game, watching our defenses push offenses back each play until they punted, taking home souvenir cups, sitting in traffic listening to post games, watching highlights on Kush's Corner of plays I saw live the night before. When he got fired, it was like hearing that Santa Claus had gotten arrested for something horrible, something terrible I had never heard of before, and then in the subsequent decades learning that there would never be a Santa Claus again, not even for my kids. Maybe someday our Woody Hayes or Bear Bryant will get reincarnated like Myers and Saban have done for those schools.
