If you compare the offenses under Gruden and Jackson over each of their last 3 years as OC's in the NFL it is a bit of a mixed bag. Jackson's offenses ranked an average of 9th in the NFL in yards. Slightly better than Gruden's 12th. But Gruden's offenses averaged 7th in scoring, versus Jackson's 11th. Jackson's were much more run heavy whereas Gruden's were more pass heavy. I would argue that we don't have the line nor returning RB's to feature a run heavy attack next year. But Jackson's style is much more Herm's style for sure.
And Gruden had much more success at the head coaching level where both Jackson and he were assigned with employing their offensive schemes.
