There are millions spent on the bowl games, there monetary benefits to the host city, advertising, etc. Now, the bowls face the potential of inviting teams that will only shadow the real teams that won their regular season games. The main reason being the risk of injury in one game that could cost a player the potential of a pro career. My question is, why don't the bowls buy blanket insurance policies to prevent the star players from abandoning their teammates and university by not participating in the blwl games. This problem is becoming more widespread every year and I see this as a major problem on the existence of the number bowl games. Possibly some CR's can shred more light on this very visible problem. I realize the cost, but isn't it the cost of putting on a bowl?
