While I'd love to get into the playoff, win the NC, and hope we do sooner rather than later, college football simply is not just about the rankings, playoffs, and who wins the NC.
Only one team wins it all, and thinking there is nothing in it for everyone else is just wrong, even if the media pushes that narrative.
My favorite part of it is the rivalries, the build up, ribbing, bragging rights, tailgating, gameday experience, etc. Showing up as part of something bigger you enjoy being part of, rooting for your team against a common enemy.
I suspect many fans would trade a win over South Central or uofEh for a playoff berth. We'd all of course like to achieve all of them but the other bowls still matter to me.
Yesterday was a good day in my world, and the Sun Bowl venue helped make that happen.
