I spent a good part of my career expanding the facilities for growing companies. Therefore, I spent much of my time learning from IEs. I was always amazed that the the IEs I worked with had a deeper knowledge of the operations than management. To do it right, the design process goes from the inside out. I let the IE department have control over building layout and people/product flow. My engineers would spec construction materials and MPE requirements. Then I would pick the colors. My other responsibility was to keep the corporate executives from screwing up the project.
BTW, did you read that Trey Lance is on crutches after some sort of corrective surgery for an old injury. NDSU will not give much detail, but Matt Entz mentioned that Lance may miss spring ball. I hope the kid comes back 100%.
